About the Team

Welcome to the storied tradition of the Mound Westonka White Hawks Wrestling team, -a community and family where dedication, passion, and camaraderie transforms athletes into champions of life. Our reach is grades 7th to 12th, supporting both a boys wrestling team of 30 and a growing girls wrestling team of one.

Embarking on their first state wrestling journey in 1939, the Mound Westonka White Hawks have a long legacy marked by perseverence and excellence. Our team's history shines with a state team championship in 1947, and three-time state champions Gary Erdman (1958-1960), and  Jack Nelson  (2021-2023).

Our team motto is"brothers": a dedication to each other and a team-first attitude. Head coach Todd Munsterteiger has been at the helm for 29 years, while assistant coaches Eric Rodelius (28 years), and John Wardlow (25 years) have helped to create a strong, and dedicated team. Second-year assistants Sam Bennyhoff, and Eric Hensel were both All-Americans at Augsburg College, and  volunteer assistant Andrew Beitler was a Division 1 wrestler at Cornell.

         Message from the Coach:

"Once you have wrestled, everything else in life is easy - Dan Gable"
