The Mound Westonka boys golf team had three days of competition last week, including the Bash at B’s on the River and the Oakdale Invitational. The boys are showing improvement each week, and posted some of their best rounds of the season.

The White Hawks hosted a conference meet at the Bash at B’s on the River in Watertown on May 13. Sophomore Luke Sunnarborg shot a 36, good for third place, missing first by only one stroke. Sophomore Dillon Peterson finished with a 42, and eighth grader Leif Kellner was right behind him with a 43. Sophomore Wes Foley contributed the final White Hawks score, with a 48.

On May 15, the boys began the two-day Oakdale Invitational in Buffalo Lake with 13 teams. Sunnarborg had two birdies en route to a 75, setting him up well for day two. Peterson had his best 18-hole round of the season, an 81. Foley shot an 89 for the White Hawks, with freshman Hudson Pundsack and sophomore Brady Musel each finishing at 91.

Sunnarborg used three birdies on day two to finish at 77, totaling 152, good for another third place finish. Pundsack earned his best round of the season, shooting an 82. Peterson finished at 85, and Senior Michael Proulx also carded his season best, an 86.

Day two brought the lowest team total of the season with the White Hawks adding their top four scores for a 330.
