White Hawks senior captain Bryce Helms finished off his high school swimming career in record-breaking fashion at the 2024 MSHSL Class A boys swimming and diving state meet. Helms has swum for the Westonka boys swim and dive team since his seventh-grade year.

Helms qualified for the state tournament in both the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. This is Helms second-straight state appearance, qualifying in both his junior and senior years.

Helms smashed the Westonka school record in the 100 freestyle previously set by Ryan Strother in 2012. Helms came in with a personal best and state finals time of 48:39, placing 10th out of 23 swimmers.

In the 50 Free, Helms finished in 12th place out of 26 swimmers with a time of 22:03. His placements earned Westonka swimming 12 points to earn 24th place in the tournament overall out of 35 teams.

Westonka swimmers Eren Alemdar, Sean Dolder, Wyatt Helms, Tylen Finley, Niles Senn, Connor Shaw and Brody Helms want to congratulate their captain on an amazing high school swimming career and  senior season.

Next up for the Westonka will be the team banquet March 17 at the Medina Entertainment  Center.
