The Watertown Mayer/Mound Westonka gymnastics team won the Section 5A competition on Feb. 15 with a total score of 142.725. The team will advance to state gymnastics competition for the 10th consecutive year.

Mound Westonka High School junior Maddie Sanders was the section bars champion, followed by sophomores Norah Kelley in second and Erica Johnson in fourth. Sanders also took fourth on beam.

The girls will be advancing to the state competition in the individual and team events next weekend. The MSHSL State Gymnastics Tournament will be held Feb. 23-24 at Roy Wilkins Auditorium. More information can be found on the MSHSL website.
