White Hawks Volleyball Continues Winning Streak

The White Hawks beat Dassel-Cokato at home on Sept. 12 in three straight sets (25-12, 25-13, 25-12). Senior Kendal Richie served at 100 percent, including one ace. Junior Mia Weaver had two aces, while sophomores Ashtyn Cupp, Bridget Budzius and Meaghan Kreiser had one ace each.

Weaver and Budzius had strong serve receive ratings at 2.5 each - some of the highest ratings of the season. It was an exciting night at the net, as Weaver put down 17 kills, followed by Budzius with nine, Kreiser with eight, senior Maquinna Peglow with six, and junior Taryn Peglow with four. The team had an impressive 42 digs from eight players.

In hopes of continuing their winning streak, the White Hawks headed to Rockford on Sept. 19, and it was a true nail biter! The White Hawks came out with the win after five long sets (25-18, 27-29, 22-25, 25-11, 15-10).

The White Hawks put down 17 aces in a strong serving performance. Weaver and Budzius had four aces each, while Kendal Richie had three, and Meaghan Kreiser served at 100%. The offense was strong at the net led by Weaver with 14 kills. M. Peglow and Kreiser had 12 kills each, which were all fed by setter Ashtyn Cupp, who had 46 assists. Taryn Peglow had a strong showing at the net, putting up five blocks. The back row didn’t want to be out done and dug 45 balls. Richie led in the back with 15 digs, followed by Weaver with 12 and Budzius with 10.

The White Hawks will play Holy Family at home on Tuesday, Sept. 26 during Homecoming Week.
