The Westonka girls varsity tennis team is starting with a strong 6-0 record in dual matches so far this season. The White Hawks have beaten Glencoe-Silver Lake (6-1), Chaska (4-3), Annandale (4-3), Section 2AA opponents Shakopee (6-1) and Waconia (5-2), and Wright County Conference opponent Jordan (5-2).  Both the Chaska match and the Annandale matches came down to the wire. Junior Reese Casper pulled out the fourth win at Chaska, and the No. 1 doubles team of senior captains Anna Wood and Cam Winther won a difficult and key match to beat Annandale.

Coaches Rob Paul and Brent Reinbold have been thrilled with the way the girls are responding to the challenges put before them.  The doubles teams are adjusting their game plans mid-match in order to topple their opponents, while the singles players continue to dominate theirs. Sophomore Suzie Marth, 3rd singles, is undefeated in dual matches so far this season. Junior captain Savannah Paul, 1st singles, is currently ranked in the top 10 in the state in AA.

The White Hawks hope to continue their winning streak with three tough matches this week: Providence Academy, Section 2AA opponent Chanhassen, and WCC opponent Delano. They will end the week on Saturday, Sept. 16, trying their luck at the Buffalo Tournament,
