Spring has finally arrived, and the White Hawks boys golf team is appreciating the nicer weather. The team traveled to the Nelson’s Classic at the Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan on May 2, and May 5 brought them to Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker.

Junior Max Krebsbach led the team at the Nelson’s Classic, shooting 77 and tying for 16th place. The meet included 18 teams, with Lakeville North taking first. Juniors Mac Harmer and Tyler Albert both shot 85. Junior Matthew Uhas finished with an 87, with three birdies on the back nine.

May 5 was a preview of the section meet, and Harmer and eighth grader Luke Sunnarborg liked what they saw. Both finished at 81 and tied for sixth place in the section. The highlight of the meet for the White Hawks was an eagle by Sunnarborg on the 13th hole.  Using a 7-iron, he knocked it in the cup from 160 yards, for a 2 on the par 4. Seniors Jack Eberhart (93) and Michael Doshan (97) rounded out the White Hawks scores. The White Hawks finished in fifth place out of nine teams.

Next up for Mound Westonka are meets at Dahlgreen Golf Club in Chaska and Oakdale Golf Club in Buffalo Lake.
