The Watertown-Mayer/Mound Westonka gymnastics team took first place at the Class A state True Team championships on January 22 in Melrose, Minnesota.

Competing were the top 10 gymnastics teams from around the state: Becker, Big Lake, Detroit Lakes, Mankato West, Melrose, Perham, New London Spicer, New Ulm/NUACS/MVL, Watertown-Mayer/Mound Westonka and Worthington. The team’s top five scores in each event contributed to the team total.

Watertown-Mayer/Mound Westonka, which remains undefeated on the season, won the title with 180.025 points, followed by Mankato West in second with 178.550 and Big Lake Lake in third with 178.050.
