The Westonka White Hawks boys golf team teed it up twice last week, taking on fields at Glencoe Country Club and Oak Glen Golf Course. The team took advantage of the perfect 70-degree days to post solid rounds and build momentum heading into next week’s conference championship.

The White Hawks had a strong showing at Glencoe Country Club, finishing third out of 12 teams. Junior Luke Sunnarborg led the charge with a 73, placing third individually out of 72 golfers. Sophomore Hudson Pundsack followed with a 79, good for 10th place. Freshman Leif Kellner stepped up with an 85, and seniors Maxx Pierre and Erik Flom each contributed scores of 90 to round out the effort.

Playing with a modified lineup at Oak Glen, Westonka placed sixth out of seven teams in a newly added event. On another perfect day in the 70s, junior Logan Hill paced the team with an 83, finishing 19th overall. Sophomore Hudson Pundsack continued his strong week with an 84, while junior Wes Foley shot an 85 and freshman Erik Flom added a 92.

The White Hawks now set their sights on the two-day Wright County Conference Championship at Crow River Golf Club in Hutchinson, scheduled for May 12 and 14. With confidence building, Westonka is poised to make a strong postseason push.
