The Mound Westonka High School Math Team wrapped up the 2024-25 season by finishing in fourth place at the State Math Meet held at Spring Lake Park High School on March 10. It was a full day of mathematics in which the team competed as fiercely as they have all season long.

The problems presented at the state meet were even more rigorous than in the regular season, and the Westonka students rose to the challenge. The competition was stiff, as the tournament was filled with the very top mathematicians in the state. Westonka missed the podium by only one point and was only two points out of second place.

"It was a great ending to our most successful season to date," said advisor Lisa Paul.

Highlights of the day included:

  • Opening welcome kicked off by U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar.
  • Senior captain Rohan Nella competed as the school’s first ever individual invited to the state tournament. He took seventh place.
  • Senior captain Tor Erdahl was the team’s top scorer of the day and led the White Hawks to a fourth-place finish.
