The White Hawks boys hockey team won in dramatic fashion on Jan. 28, beating Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato 6-5 in overtime.

The White Hawks were first to get on the board, with a goal from junior Liam Grant in the first period. But five unanswered goals put them down 5-1 going into the third period. Finally, senior Blake Decker broke the drought with eight minutes left in the game. Another goal from Grant, and one from sophomore Griffin Olson, brought the score to 5-4 with under two minutes to play. It took senior Auggie Novack just 45 seconds to find the net again, assisted by senior Will Salvati, tying the game and sending it into overtime.

A scuffle early in OT resulted in penalties against both teams and gave the Dragons a power play. Junior Theo Karr made the shorthanded goal, assisted by Grant and junior Collin Hagen, to win the game in front of a boisterous home crowd. It was Hagen's fourth assist of the night.

The Westonka JV boys fell to the Dragons, 4-0.

The White Hawks are on the road for their next two games. They play Hutchinson on Friday, Jan. 31, and Holy Family on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
