The White Hawks traveled to Rochester and competed in the Mat Boss Minnesota Christmas Tournament Dec. 20 and 21. The tournament field was comprised of 41 teams, including the top 12 teams in Class AAA, several in Class AA, as well as some top teams from Wisconsin and South Dakota. “This is easily the toughest tournament in the state, and one of the toughest in the nation, with several nationally ranked wrestlers competing,'' said Munsterteiger.

Several White Hawks wrestlers earned victories, with sophomore Deacon Ramthun and senior Cole Munsterteiger placing 12th, and junior Phill Pisarchuk placing eighth. “Between the regular tournament and the 'Last Chance' tourney on Saturday, we got a lot of matches in with some tough competition," said assistant coach Eric Rodelius. "It was just what we were looking for heading into break."

The White Hawks girls wrestling squad competed in the Monticello Invitational on Dec. 20. Freshman Lilyanne Ray lost two close matches, and junior Delaney Parker went 3-1 to take the consolation championship. “After a tough first round loss, Delaney was on fire with three straight pins,” said assistant coach Eric Hensel.

The White Hawks will resume action on Saturday, Jan. 4, when they head to Norwood Young America for the Central Invite. First round action begins at 10 a.m.
