The Westonka varsity and JV boys hockey teams snapped a three-game losing streak Dec. 17, winning over Morris Area with matching scores of 7-1.
Senior Blake Decker led the team in scoring, with a hat trick and two assists. Senior Will Salvati found the net twice, and senior Luke Poikonen and junior Wes Foley each scored once. Salvati, Poikonen and Foley also had assists, as did seniors Reese Matheny and August Novack, juniors Teddy Johnson and Logan Groth, and sophomore David Kalis.
In JV action, sophomore Chase Cody had two goals and two assists. Junior Camden Ross also scored twice and had one assist. Sophomores Hudson Pundsack, Drew Carlson and Anders Mjelstad were the other scorers. Freshman Anthony Prezioso had two assists. Carlson, junior Colton Decker, and sophomores Grady Olszewski, Colin McMullen and Avrey Cotton each had one assist.
The boys are now 5-2-1 in conference standings (12-13-1 overall). They travel to Albert Lea on Saturday, Dec. 21.
