The White Hawks volleyball program held their annual banquet on Nov. 17. They finished the season 21-8, took second in the Wright County Conference and were ranked seventh in class AAA.
Leading the team this year was Mia Weaver, who racked up quite a few awards at the banquet. Weaver was named Team MVP, All-Conference, All-State and Academic All-State. “We were so blessed to have Mia be a part of this program," said head coach Ashley Schroeder. "She’s obviously a force on the volleyball court but also such a phenomenal leader off the court."
The White Hawks will also be graduating middle blocker Taryn Peglow, and right side Alicia Clobes; along with managers Anna Borg, Makenna Demmer and Sabrina Kaganovsky. These seniors have left quite a mark on this program and will be very missed next year!
Other players receiving recognition at the banquet included Hannah Birkins, who was named Most Improved; and Maria Neumann, who was honored with the White Hawk Award. The White Hawk Award is given to someone who is the heart of the team, who embodies the program’s cultures and values, and who sacrifices individual success for the betterment of the team.
Lexie Rehman was also named All-Conference as a middle blocker. Bridget Budzius (libero) and Meaghan Kresiser (outside hitter) received All-Conference Honorable Mentions.
“If I could give them all an award, I would," said Schroeder. "Everyone did such a great job in their roles this year, which was a huge reason why our team was so successful." Lastly, the team finished with high academic honors, receiving the “gold” award for a cumulative GPA between 3.75-4.00. The average for this year’s varsity roster was 3.94. Proving these ladies are incredibly successful both on and off the court.
Finally, the C squad, B squad and junior varsity teams celebrated their successes as well. A list of their team awards is below.
