The Mound Westonka girls tennis team has had a fun and solid start to the season.  After six weeks of matches, the team placed second in the Wright County Conference and currently has a record of seven wins and eight losses in both dual matches and tournaments.

The charismatic varsity team is led by senior captains Jessica Hoernemann, Gracie O’Halloran and Savannah Paul, along with junior captain Zoe Wood. The team started the year having the North-South tournament rained out without completing a match, and then coming in second when hosting the MW doubles tournament. The White Hawks also came in third last weekend at the Buffalo tournament with many players having great matches.

It’s been a very fun season thus far with the girls bringing enthusiasm to the game of tennis every day. They are looking forward to section play, which begins the first week in October.

The JV team (shown below) is holding strong with a season record 8-1 thus far.
