Mound Westonka enjoyed two meets close to home last week, playing at B’s on the River and Pioneer Creek. The White Hawks placed top finishers at both events.

May 23 was the Bash at B’s with Delano and Watertown Mayer. Senior Tyler Albert led the team with a 40, tying for third place. Freshman Luke Sunnarborg shot a 40, placing fifth. Senior Graham Taets came in next with a 43, and freshman Dillon Peterson followed with a 46. Senior Michael Proulx finished in 47, and the team title went to Delano.

Senior Mac Harmer and freshman Luke Sunnarborg played similar rounds at the Pioneer Cup on May 24. Both had nice scores on the front nine and then performed even better on the back. Harmer placed second in the tournament, shooting a 76 (40-36). Sunnarborg finished in third place with a 78 (41-37). Albert shot an 86 for the White Hawks, with Peterson scoring an 89, and senior Daniel Kaczanowski 90. The White Hawks placed third, only five strokes behind first place Delano.

The section tournament will be played June 1 and 5 at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker.
