The Watertown-Mayer/Mound Westonka gymnastics team claimed their ninth-straight section championship on Feb. 16.
The Watertown-Mayer/Mound Westonka gymnastics team won its ninth consecutive Section 5A title Feb. 16 with a score of 143.925. The team is headed to the state meet on Friday, Feb. 24, at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul, with competition beginning at 6 p.m.
Mound Westonka High School senior Reagan Kelley placed first for Section 5A on all four events and won the section all-around competition with a school record-breaking score of 38.625. Kelley will be defending her all-around state champion title on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 6 p.m. Additionally, MWHS sophomore Maddie Sanders placed third on balance beam at sections, qualifying for the state beam competition on Saturday night.
