Six Mound Westonka High School seniors have committed to pursuing academics and athletics at the collegiate level next year. They made their decisions official by signing letters of intent in front of family, friends, teachers, staff and coaches at the Westonka Performing Arts Center on November 9.

The following White Hawks student-athletes participated in MWHS Fall Signing Day: 

• Kate Velander - Winona State University (tennis)
• Gretta Pioske - Lindenwood University (hockey)
• Colin Richie - Iowa Central Community College (baseball) 
• Sam Kluever - Kirkwood Community College (baseball)
• Simon James - Gustavus Adolphus College (baseball)
• Sydney Leonard - University of New Hampshire (hockey)

“Congrats to these student leaders for their commitment to MWHS and their teams and peers,” said Westonka Activities Director Jeff Peterson. “Good luck as you transition from a high school athletic program to the collegiate level. We will miss you! Go White Hawks!”
