Mound Westonka High School senior Jacob Peterson won the Most Valuable Teammate Award, a weekly recognition presented by the Minnesota State High School League and Wells Fargo.

The Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) announced April 7 that Mound Westonka High School senior boys hockey player Jacob Peterson had won the Most Valuable Teammate (MVT) Award. MSHSL and Wells Fargo sponsor the weekly awards program to recognize students who exemplify the qualities of a great teammate.

Peterson's nominator wrote:

"Jacob is always positive and having fun. He keeps the team loose and excited to play. He supports his teammates regardless of circumstance. He is responsible, accountable and a hard worker, making him a role model to younger players on the team."

Peterson will receive an MVT certificate and will also be recognized in a special scoreboard feature during the MSHSL state tournaments.
