The 2021-2022 Mound Westonka Tonkabots robotics season will soon begin. The team is holding an informational meeting on Tuesday, November 9 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the engineering wing of Mound Westonka High School. The meeting is open to parents and students.

The FIRST Robotics Tonkabots Team #6147 was started in 2015. The team consists of between 15-25 energetic students who are passionate about robotics and everything FIRST Robotics offers through the league. The team is mentored by adults - a team advisor and mentors in the fields of engineering, computer programming, design, marketing and finances, to name a few - who contribute to the building of a robot for competition. The team’s advisor is Dale Kimball, certified PLTW engineering instructor.

Registration for the Tonkabots will be open November 16-30. A registration link will be available on the Westonka Activities Website under the Registration tab. Scholarships are available.

If you are interested in volunteering your time to support the team or serving as a technical mentor with building the robot, please contact Kimball at kimballd@westonka.k12.mn.us.
