Mound Westonka High School Theatre is excited to present the smash hit musical, “Something Rotten!” at the Westonka Performing Arts Center November 18–21. Tickets will go on sale through the PAC website on Monday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m.

“Something Rotten!” takes place in London in 1595. The Bottom brothers, Nick and Nigel, are trying to find success by writing plays but are outshined by the rock-star playwright of the Renaissance, William Shakespeare. Desperate to find success, Nick gets help from a soothsayer, who foretells that the future of theater involves sing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical: “Omelette: The Musical.”

MWHS Theatre has modified some parts of the show to better accommodate audiences of all ages.

This year's show features 38 actors in grades eight through 12, including 12 seniors who will take the stage. Behind the actors, the technical crews include 20 students from all high school grades with the leadership of seven seniors. Filling out the show and helping make the music behind it all is the pit orchestra, featuring 12 great student musicians.
