Senior Jack Linder and freshman Carter Reinbold have advanced to the Boys Tennis State Individual Tournament.

Senior Jack Linder and freshman Carter Reinbold will be representing Mound Westonka at Boys Tennis State Individuals in Class 1A. They qualified based on their first- and second-place finishes at the Section 6A individual singles tennis tournament held June 1 and 3. Linder was named 6A Section Champion with a record of 5-0 in the tournament, and Reinbold placed second, going 3-2 and winning his semifinal match in an exciting third-set tiebreak.

Representing the White Hawks in the doubles portion of the tournament were seniors Nolan Hanson and Dylan Skaja, placing third overall with a 3-2 record; and seniors Alex Brown and Harry Moen, going 1-2.

Coach Rob Paul said, “I loved how hard all of the individual singles and doubles players competed at the section tournament. The fact that we got two singles players, in addition to the team, into the state tournament is a coach’s dream.”

“Both Jack and Carter have proven to be excellent players all season, highlighted by Jack getting the No. 3 seed in Class 1A State, and Carter making it as a ninth-grader, the youngest MW player ever to do so,” Paul added.
