White Hawks Girls Lacrosse Finishes Season

Section playoffs for the White Hawks girls lacrosse team started and finished June 1 with a tough 4-12 loss to Southwest Christian, which concluded the White Hawks’ season with a 6-7 record.

Westonka & Providence Academy 2021 Girls Lacrosse Team

The Mound Westonka/Providence Academy girls lacrosse team’s final regular season game scheduled against Waconia on May 27 was canceled due to rain and not rescheduled. Section playoffs started and finished June 1 with a tough 4-12 loss to Southwest Christian, which concluded the White Hawks’ season with a 6-7 record. Scoring for the White Hawks included sophomore Alicia Hatlestad with two goals, and junior captain Lauren Hildahl and freshman Sage Finck each with one goal. Junior captain Eleanor Young had one assist. Eighth-grader Bianca Kenton played goalie the entire game with 15 saves.

The players, coaches and parents celebrated the season with the end of year banquet at Burl Oaks Golf Club on June 3. A variety of awards were given to the following players:  Varsity MVP– Grace Peterson, JV MVP – Jordyn LaRue, Varsity Defensive Player Of The Year – Liz Trubeck, JV Defensive Player Of The Year – Grace Ruud, Spirit Award – Frankie Walker, Rookie of the Year – Georgia Harmer, Most Improved – Taryn Peglow and the Legeros Award – Grace Peterson. 

The varsity team composite GPA is an impressive 3.835, and both Peterson and Annabelle Hommer received Individual Academic All-State awards. Peterson also earned All-State Team Honorable Mention. Peterson, Hatlestad and Nora Sipprell were all named to the Wright County All Conference team. Honorable Mention went to Grace Carlson, Trubeck, Hailey Salwei and Eleanor Young. Peterson (Midfield) and Trubeck (Defense) made Section 2 Team 1 and Young (Midfield) and Sipprell (Midfield) made Section 2 Team 2. The team selected Sipprell and Young as the 2022 team captains. All of the returning players and coaches are already looking forward to the 2022 season next spring!
